Here's The Black Cat & Moon Pumpkin I Carved Tonight. No Pattern, freehand, and I can't draw so maybe next year I will use a pattern and have it look professional. I love those fake flashlight bulbs that you can sit in the bottom of your pumpkin, so there is no fire risk. I purchased a few of them last year, I think they were 2 for $5 at the Grocery Store.

Next is my dear son's pumpkin, he wanted it to have 5 eyes.

He's only 9, so I thought he did a nice job. We also used the Pumpkin Safety Knives which I love because kids can use them too and they are inexpensive too and usually come with a scoop.

Speaking of scooping ~ I made a really stupid purchase today. It was a Motorized battery run rotating thing for scooping out strings and seeds from your pumpkin. What was I thinking? I like the Tablespoon Idea much better, and it's easier too.

My dear daughter carved a 2 faced pumpkin~ So here's both faces.

The Part of The Country we live in does not allow us to bring in homemade goodies. So it's either Prepackaged or from the Bakery. So we got a little creative this year. I saw these done with different candies on a blog and thought, Perfect for a School Party. Just some Candy Corn Packages, Tissue Paper and Green Curling Ribbon. Quick ,Easy & Creative !

For Dinner Dessert Tonight I put a Little Twist on a recipe that I found , I think next time I do this I will use Butter Flavored Cooking Spray. Again Simple & Easy!

Cut Out Flour Tortillas (Like You Make Soft Tacos With) with Seasonal Cookie Cutters, Spray with Cooking Spray, Sprinkle Shape in Cinnamon & Sugar Mixture, Just Like You use for Toast and Bake in the oven for 9-10 minutes. If you don't celebrate Halloween or you don't want to make them right away, Autumn leaf cookie cutters or turkeys would be a lot of fun too.

In Other News, I had Company over the weekend, so I have been cleaning house and haven't had much time to blog, or do anything else for that matter. I really appreciate all the Comments Everyone Left on My Bird Card. You are all so encouraging. I am Posting and Visiting Blogs Today :)

I Did get a Chance to go To An Antique Store on Tues. It was so Fun, I had so much fun shopping, I didn't take any wonderful Pictures. However, I did buy some things I can CREATE with for my Etsy Store. So I won't show you everything and ruin the surprise, but here's a preview of some of the finds :) I Found the Most Beautiful Victorian Valentine's ~

The Birthday Postcard, with the roses, Was Hand painted in Germany and I believe it has a 1901 Postmark.

I actually Stamped this weekend, I used my New Bird Stamp, Rob & Bob Studio Papers with Bazzil Cardstock and Silver Tensil Embossing Poweder. One of my Favoite Techniques to do is Heat Embossing. I also used Prima Flowers and on The Inside I used a "Happy Birdday to You", Stamp from Stampin' Up .

2: My Favorite Candy is Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears from Rocky Road Chocolate Factory.

3:I Used to Collect Cows,I still like them but hubby didn't ,so I sold most of them in a Yard Sale.

4: I've only went to Disneyland once, I was going into my Freshman Year of High School. My Favorite thing was the "Small World " Ride.

5: I am an Only Child, well I have a 1/2 Sister who is 8 years older than me and we never lived together, so I was an only child.

6: I had 2 Best Friends in High School, Erin & Amy that are still my friends today, not to age myself, but that means almost 19 years.

7:Even though you wouldn't know it from my blog, I have Scrapbooking for almost 10 years. I have stamped off and on for about 8 , and I have always enjoyed doing crafts....

Autumn Leaves

One of My Favorite things about fall is Autumn Leaves in all the Beautiful colors, so lately I decided I would decorate with them. There is this wonderful Tutorial online , http://haha.nu/creative/how-to-make-roses-from-maple-leaves/

that shows how to make maple leaves into roses. I made a bouquet in about 10 minutes, Thought I would add some sealant too, so they don't fall apart.

So other than cleaning house and doing laundry this is my creativity for the last few days....

I played today and my swap will get done later, I am an awful procrastinator. Anyway ,I went Thrifting today and came home with some fun fun things....

Here's a Vintage Embroidered Crib Sheet, It is so cute, I will be listing it on ebay. Unless I decide to keep it. It has the Little Ducky playing a violin and 3 little Dancing Rabbits. Is this from a Fairy Tale? If anyone knows will you please let me know,haha.

Next I Found Some 50's half aprons with lace in my favorite colors

Aren't these Beautiful ? They are both sheer and lacy. They would be so cute in a cottage home...

They both have pretty lace too and are pleated.I think the pink one is handmade the Blue (Turquoise) one was made by Artistic Aprons in Florida.

Then I Found A Ton of This Fabric...... Yes, It is Authentic Calico Cat & Gingham Dog Flannel Fabric, I have not measured it yet, but I think it is around 5 maybe 6 yards in 3 Sections. I will also be listing this on ebay, because unfortunately, I am not a Sewer.

I also found some fun PINK
crafting items. I was just tickled PINK because I am hoping to start an Etsy store soon, I will let you know when that happens. I found Pink Poinsettias, Crepe Paper, About 4 yds. of Pink Vintage Lace & Little White Feathered Bird....

What's For Dinner At Your House ?

I have Cleaning Today House Today and Baking. I went Grocery Shopping Yesterday and almost bought the store out. I am not much of a Baker or a Cooker so this is really GOOD for me,LOL.

First I am making WHITE CHICKEN CHILI in a Slow Cooker :

Here's The Recipe, Minus The jalepno pepppers, because I ended up in the Emergency Room with a swelling throat last time I ate them...

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb chicken, cut up into small chunks (I like to use boneless breasts for their "ease" and lower fat content)
1 cup chopped onion
1 can (or the equivalent) chicken broth
2 cloves of garlic, chopped finely
2 tsp Cumin seed (ground will not withstand long cooking as well)
1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
3 -15oz cans white beans (great northern or cannellini), drained and rinsed
1 or 2 chopped red, green or yellow bell peppers, or combination

These are Goodies I received from my Partner Bren in the "Black Cat & Pumpkin Swap". Aren't they just too fun?

I have always wanted a Tiera (Crown) and I have never made one. I will be decorating with this beauty.

And I also received the most adorable Wand to with it ~ She also made this,

isn't she so talented ?

Then she bought me a Bobble Head Witch and some Black Glitter. I just loved this swap,I'm so glad I joined..... Thank you so much,Bren!

I actually "Created" today and started my Halloween Decorating...... Here is what I made, it's a Banner for My Mantel that hangs over the fireplace.

I started with a little garland from Walmart that has ghosts and "boo's" on it . I added the Karen Foster Paper, B&W Vintage Photos & Cardstock, I distressed a Little with black ink , added Silver Glitter Chipboard Letters and since my mini clothespins were nowhere to be found, I attached with Orange Paper Clips.

Bloglandian Ball Dancing In The Moonlight

I am Cinderella late to the ball. It's not because I have been slaving away cleaning my house, but my Fairy Godmother decided to visit late in the day.....

So I decided to make this Masquerade Mask, since it is a harvest Party. I used Basic Grey Papers, Rhinestones,Glitter Glue, Ribbons ,Feathers and Prima Flowers. And of Course the Matching Dress, Same Products used on this... except I added some Pumpkins in Pravo Craft Paper

I had so much fun designing my outfit for the ball, this was so fun, I am ready to dance in the moonlight now. I wanted to go a little more Vintage, but here was what I sent to my partner. This is an altered Recipe/Purse Box that I decorated in ribbons ,a vintage print, and fall leaves on a Cobweb background.

Oh, I found a Pumpkin Paper Lantern too. The Candlesticks were a wedding present, almost 11 years ago, I hardly ever use them , but I LOVE candles. The Floating Rose was a Trifth Store Find Yesterday and The beautiful Crystal Bowl was also purchased there, along with the beautiful Shabby Chic Rose Centerpiece. I wanted to get some Real Roses, However, I also found some Windsor Woods Wild Rose Perfume, S o The House Smells of Roses now. The Teapot & Dishes came from my Mom, they were in my "Hope Chest" when I moved out.

I had plans on making some yummy food or scones or something, but time just sorta slipped away, so the only food I have on the table is Butter mints. I love these, and they are very hard to find anymore, I remember when I was young, every wedding we went to had Butter mints & Cocktail Peanuts. Oh The Memories.

Speaking of Memories, as I was searching for a Lace tablecloth that my Mom has, somewhere in her Linen Closet, I found this Beautiful Vintage Embroidered Table Cloth. My Grandmother Made This. So it is a Very Special Keepsake....

Time 4x4 Card Chalenge

This is The Inside of the card.

For the front of card I used collaging, distressing, a Beethoven Bookmark, a watch face and stitches sticker letters. This was a Super Fun challenge. I also got to use my sparkly glitter glue. I swear I love that stuff. I just bought 3 bottles last weekend, so I'm sure you will be seeing more, haha. Pink, Gold & Black...

I will be hostessing a MakeMinePink Tea Party Table later this afternoon. Yesterday, I found a Beautiful Vintage Tablecloth that belonged to my Grandmother, she actually made it. I believe it is linen and has cut outs with embroidered stitches around them, it's absolutely gorgeous. Please check back later....

Last Night I made BLUEBERRY Pancakes.and I made a "special " one for my son, who loves turtles. Yes, the eyes are chocolate chips.

Grandparent's Day Is Tommorow

Grandparent's Day is Tomorrow , Sunday, September 9th.
One year, we bought Flowers and had my my parents over for a BBQ, this was when the Kids were Little. So today, My kids are busy making Cards for their Grandparents. My husband and I no longer have any of our grandparents. They are In the Father's Loving Hands now. My Grandma that I was very close too passed away when I was a Senior in High School.
I have some really beautiful memories of her.

My Dad's parents lived aways aways and I very seldom got to visit with them. They were both 98 years old when they passed away.So they lived Very Long Lives. I did this In Memory Layout of Grandma about 2 years ago, but I thought I would share.

Bridal Shower Day

Today is my Cousin's Bridal Shower.
So this Afternoon I will be Partying. It's mostly a Family Shower, So I bought her a Towel Set in Favorite Color of Green. Yesterday I found a Bath Pillow and Some Soft Socks, also in Lime Green And I found the greatest Rose Petal Soaps that you Sprinkle In the Bath. I thought these would be Perfect for a Bridal Shower.

I also joined a "Pumpkin Black Cat Swap". So I have actually made something, totally not my style for the Swap. It's Just Very Altered Art for me and I'm not sure if I like it yet. I will show you, because we are blogging our Goodies before we send them out , The 20th of September.

Chocolate Factory In California Sketch

I was Inspired by Sketch it! to do this Layout of The Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory in California. Was part of our vacation, almost a year ago . We had Hot Fudge Sundaes, Amazing, and Free Samples while we walked through the gift shop too.

For the Layout I used BLING Bazzill,Ala Crate Papers, Distressing with Liquid Chalk, Computer Font Jounaling, Autumn Leaves Acrylic Stamps and I embossed the Title with Brown Embossing Powder. The Title and The little wheels were made with My QK Silhouette, which I absolutely Love. They are a Little more than a Cricut, but they are So Versatile :)

PUMPKIN GUTS, YUM!

I finally Scrapped today. "Pumpkin Guts, Yum". This is my dog Sprocket last Halloween. He is a Cocker Spaniel and eats everything in site. I used Creative Imaginations, Fancy Pants, SandyLion, MM, Hiedi Grace Pins, Sequins, Karen Foster Cardstock Stickers and MM Novelty Pumpkin Brads.Junkitz Rub Ons, My Hand Journaling,with Zig and Bohemian Rub ons.

The Circles were cut with cloud scissors, for matting and title. Feels so good to start Scrapping again, it's been awhile since I have done an actual Layout ..

As I was searching through some fun blogs I came across a great Inspirational Challenge at http://herebygrace.typepad.com/here_by_grace/

So here is what I came up with. I believe the only requirement was a card with Lumpy things. I used Paper Tearing and Layering. Cardstock, Rob & Bob Studio and a Vintage Hymnal. I also used an Anna Griffin Die Cut with Foam Tape to add deminsion. Anna Griffin Ribbon, K & Co. Tag and a Hiedi Grace Hat Pin. I used a Pink Vintage rose to add more depth. A Touch of Creativity & Some "Fine" Glitter. The Card Reads, "Grow Where You Are Planted". I think it will make a nice thinking of you card.

ATC's For A Swap

I finished a Swap today. These are Fairy Cats for an ATC Swap for a Group I'm In. The Matching Set are Fairy Dogs and they are Taco Bell Puppies. Silly me, I didn't scan all that I made . I finished my 12th one this afternoon. The Cats ,Dogs and I did 2 different styles of Maxine Cards also.

When the Swap is to everyone, maybe one of my Swapping Buddies Can scan the others. This was so fun. I am not in swaps a lot anymore, but enjoy it when I am, makes for very fun mail days.

The Great Pumpkin House In Progress

A Work In Progress. Last Month I purchased a Doodlebug House and thought it would be so fun to make one. So far, so Good. The Chimney and steps need to be added, as well as some Jolee's Spiders.

My favorite Halloween movie is "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". It has been since I was a child, and I watch it with my kids every year. I found the Hallmark Miniature set at a Yard Sale for a dollar and thought, I could make something with those :) I am also working on some ACT Cards for a swap. I have one out of 8 done. DOG DAY AND BACKYARD PHOTOS

Today is Dog Day according to http://www.123greetings.com/ I have always Loved Dogs. They are such faithful Companions. I have a Cocker Spaniel,

named Sprocket. He was actually a Rescue from a Dachshund Rescue of all Places. First he was rescued from a Humane Society , then to a Cocker Spaniel Rescue and then to a Dachshund Rescue. My parents have 3 Dachshunds, and I knew that was the kind of dog that I wanted, so we went to the Rescue to see a Dachshund and about a week later came home with our Cocker Spaniel, So we just say he's our "Ugly Dachshund".

Here's Some Random Pictures I was Playing with Yesterday as I was just playing around with my Digital Camera. Trying to Perfect the Zoom Lense and I love to find new angles that give things a great new look, Here's some mushrooms . I had to get rid of these, because if dogs eat these , they can cause some serious health problems, so I am told.

I also found that using the zoom lense on a clover was a neat effect. The tops look so neat, I actually was trying to photograph a bee on it, but it flew away before the picture snapped.

Last but not least is my Geranium. it's still half alive. My Pansies are gone , but both of my Geraniums are perking along. Last year I had a pink geranium in bloom until October.

Where do I start? This Summer has gone by so fast. This week we are getting ready for the kids to go back to school already. We went to the Coast and seems like we have been gone so much. My Sister Visited for a few days. My Mother In Law stayed with us for a few weeks. I think I have been to every Yard Sale and Second Hand Store in this town, Sigh.

I did find some great Altered art finds at a Second Hand Store. I found a Great Donna Dewberry Wallpaper Sample Book, Gorgeous Papers. I have always been quite fond of her work anyway. Beautiful Florals. I also found some great little plastic Pixies at an Estate Sale. Thought they would be great for altered art.

Simplicity of Nature

one of my favorite websites. I did this Layout last night of pictures I took on our camping trip on Memorial Day Weekend. There were actually 2 antelope really close to the road and it was so great to see them in nature.

The journaling reads "These were the Simple & Beautiful Sites on the way to Christmas Valley on Memorial Day Weekend". The computer journaling is a quote by William Hazlitt, that reads "Simplicity of character is the natural result of profound thought."

My Jewelery Tree

Ok, I can't Take Complete Credit for this, as in the idea wasn't my own, although I did modify quit a bit. I saw a Jewelry Tree at http://www.lifetimemoments.com/ that was similar and that is where I got the idea. The one that was made in the gallery at there website was made using a Ribbon Spool, I think the new Doodlebug ones. We'll I just looked at it and made my own Instructions, so here's what I did.

I found a great Wooden Paper Towel Holder at Goodwill for $3.00. I used a Ribbon Spool around the top and added Pushpin Centers to the Prima Flowers, so they became necklace holders. Next I added Rob & Bob Pink Polka Dotted Paper To the top and then screwed down the original wooden knob. Next, I used a Hot glue gun to attach the Vintage Ballerina, A vintage cake decoration. Attached Prima Flowers along the edge of the knob. I finished off the bottom with Prima Flowers, Bling and Queen & Co. Sequins. Already for Jewelry. This was so fun to do. I think I will try an Asian One for my Daughter next week.

ATC CARDS

Went On Vacation

We spent the weekend at the Beach. Had a wonderful time. We left on Friday night and arrived at our motel late . The next morning we woke up early and walked across the street to the beach. There had been a minus tide, which essentially means some great beach findings and tide pools.My son found an agate and some great little shells. We also discovered some really nice tide pools in the rocks, we saw 3 or 4 starfish and a few sea urchins too.

After enjoying the morning at the Beach, we grabbed some coffee and headed of for the Science Museum and Aquarium. We saw some really neat Shrimp, Lobsters & Crabs that I didn't even know existed. For instance, a Japanese Spider Crab

For Lunch, we visited a historical area and found a great little spot called The Chowder Bowl. My husband & daughter enjoyed, scallops ,fish & chips and a bowl of clam chowder. I am not seafood lover and my son isn't either, so I had a very tasty croissant sandwich & my son enjoyed chicken fillets. On our way back to the motel we stopped at a bay side town and found the greatest candy shop. We bought Salt Water Taffy,in a variety of flavors, and Fresh Warm Carmel Corn, it was delicious and the whole store was filled with the scent of fresh Carmel.

On Sunday Morning we woke up to wind & rain, so we decided to visit the ocean after breakfast. I saw the cutest place ever on the way to our motel. The name? PIG N Pancake, I knew I had to go. Even if it didn't have the greatest food, it would be great to Scrapbook. The kids & i loved our pancakes, but the experience wasn't that enjoyable for my husband. While we were there, I had fun shopping in the little gift shop. I bought, Pig N Pancake socks, a Frisbee, a ornament, a shirt and a coffee mug. Was so fun. Has the greatest little story behind it too, will be a fun one to Scrapbook.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Happy 4th of July everyone. We are going to a BBQ today and I was put in charge of dessert, so here is what I am bringing,lol. Jello Jigglers, Strawberry & Berry Blue. I made them in those New disposable Star tins. Love those things. I have a Silicone Jello strawberry shape mold too, that I haven't used yet.

Then I decorated and made from scratch (well from a box) but i baked it this star cake and cupcakes. They are Devils Food Inside. I am so happy I finally found these tooth Picks with the Flags, now I can save what I didn't use to scrap and do Altered Arts with...

I also made the yummiest chocolate No Bake Cookies. So we should be all set. I'm in charge of buns too, Hamburgers & Hot Dogs, Thats pretty All American right?

It's supposed to get in the high 90's here today, so we will probably have the BBQed food inside an air conditioned house, Thank Goodness, I like warm,but that's just Hot! We will be watching the Firework display from the Buette tonight from our nieghboors house,I think,they have a pretty good view. Hope Everyone Has a Wonderful 4th!

Wallpaper Roses Layout

Ok, it's been awhile, but I actually Scrapped a layout this morning. I better go finish up some housework now :) This was done with The Waverly Rose Wallpaper I bought Yesterday and this was Mother's Day this year by the way. I also used Bazzill, Junkits Printed Paper, Prima Sprites and Buttons from my stash, the sticker was also from my stash. The Joy Lable was Wild Asparagus.Then I used my Glitter Pen, I bought it on National Scrapbook Day , they are made by Gelly Roll, I know you can't really tell in the photo, but they outline and really give things dimension. My Shabby Chic Finds

I had so much fun today at the second hand store. Found a bunch of altered art finds. I can't wait to use them. Then when I got home I recieved a Big Wallpaper book I bought on Ebay. Thought I would share my fun Shabby Chic finds. First of all I got a 70's Cook Book, that I removed all the fun clip art out of, for 10 cents ,I think. Then I found some very pretty vintage"y (Victorian)looking wallpaper stickies in roses, an older hymnal with yellowing pages and some very nice older trim, Pink checks with a strip of lace in the middle. Hopefully this week I will have some time to play with my new "goodies".... Thanks to all of my friends who have posted on my blog so far :)

I made This Victorian Style Door Holder Cone For A Friend as a Belated Birthday Present. I am loving the Color Combination of a Script Off White, Pink & Aqua, and I have always been so fond of The Victorian Era.

I used a Vintage Script Paper, Not sure who the manufacture is because it was in my Scrap Drawer. I also used a Clip art Doll, I hand Cut My Wild Asparagus Wings and used ink distressing, Added Some, Lace, Pink Roses, A small Pink Prima Flower and a Vintage Pearl Pin. I am a Little Late on Her Birthday, So I hope I am forgiven.

I'm posting late, because dh & I actually got to go to breakfast this morning, while my parents watched the kids, so it was like a real date :)

Today is Appreciate Your Marriage Day. DH and I have been married 10.5 yaers, I wonder where the time went?
Today In History: Gone With The Wind, By Magaret Was Published in Book form on June 30,1936. It is also Fantasia's Birthday & Mike Tyson's Birthday.
Yesterday was my Mom's Birthady. We had a Fun BBQ and My Aunt and Uncle were able to come over too. Everyone Had a Great Time.

OFF TO BUY FIREWORKS

Yet Another Day without Scrapping, but the house is almost Company Ready and we have clean Laundry ~ Yay! So now it's off to buy some stuff for The BBQ tomorrow, like Propane.... And we didn't go Fireworks Shopping today, so were going to the Big Tent set up by Wally World. I really like the bigger ones, (Buy One Get One Free) So I'm thinking, No Little Ones This Year, Just the Big Ones. My kids like the Sparks more than Loud Ones anyway, so that's pretty Much what we will be getting.

Adopt A Shelter Cat Month

June is adopt a Shelter Cat Month. This week is also National Cat week.
We adopted our Precious Calico, Skittles 3 years ago in July, so she will be 4 years old next month. She is a Purrrrfect cat.
So consider adopting a shelter animal. Our dog, a Cocker Spaniel was also a shelter animal.

Today I am getting ready ready for my Mom's Bday Celebration BBQ tommorow night.I also promised the kids that we would be getting firworks. So I have a full day of cleaning and Fireworks shopping ahead of me.

Today Is Chocolate Pudding Day. That means, I will be making Instant Pudding today. Trying something New, The new Jello Chocolate Pudding with Mint Chips. Sounds good to me I am a huge fan of Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream? Anyone else with me On this?

Happy LEON Day & Welcome To my Blog! I have been an addicted Scrapbooker for almost 10 years. When I started it was time to be very creative, decorative scissors, shapes with cropped pictures and everything had to be Acid Free. Noone would have ever dreamed of using anything metal on a Scrapbook Page. One thing that is kind of unfortunate though, is that I used to Journal on every page, now it's more modern, the Scrapbooking World has been flooded with so many cute Patterned Papers & Embellishments. Once in awhile there will be a story on a tag or a Chipboard title or something. Times have sure changed.

Happy LEON Day! I found out that today is LEON day, it is NOEL spelled backwards. It is exactlly 6 months until Christmas 2007 and 6 months since Christmas 2006. Sad thing is I haven't even started Scrapping my Pictures from Christmas Yet, So far Behind..Thanks For Visting My Blog, Hope to Start Posting at Least Once or twice a day.
